American Turf Flyers Field Rules

All components of the AMA National Model Aircraft Safety Code are in force at this field at all times.

All ATF pilots and guest pilots must be current AMA members.

Guest pilots must be accompanied by their ATF host. Host pilots will insure their guests follow the club's field rules.

Covered shelter area and tables are not to be used to fuel or start engines (liquid fueled or electric).

Fuel and start engines on concrete and start-up pads behind the red line or in other designated starting areas only.

Satellite View of the ATF field All aircraft must take off from the runways or designated launch areas “EAST” of the YELLOW line only. Rotary wing devices may also launch from the heli-pads located West of the North and South ends of the paved runway.

Rotary wing devices are defined as any model which uses a rotating airfoil or airfoils to provide lift and is capable of vertical flight from a stationary start.

No pilot will position himself EAST of the designated pilot line while the model he/she is piloting is in flight. The designated pilot line is a straight line running through the flying positions established behind the protective fence as extended to the North and South borders of the flying field. Any pilot of any model operating east of the yellow line will position himself along the pilot line.

Persons not actively flying, preparing a model for flight, or recovering a model will only be on the flight line at the invitation of the pilot. That pilot will be responsible for the safety and conduct of the flight line visitors. "Flight Line" includes all areas EAST of the western edge of the concrete ramp.

All engine testing and break-in must be performed ‘away’ from the pits at the heli-pads located West of the North or South end of the runway.

All low level flying shall not be performed in an area that can cause interference with the safe operation of other models and shall be performed at a safe distance from the other active pilots and spectators.

Lithium polymer batteries will be placed in a "burn bag", sand bucket, or other appropriate fire containment device while being charged. Please charge batteries at designated charging stations.

All 3D and Aerobatic flight maneuvers must be performed EAST of the grass runway.

Pilots shall make appropriate announcements when taking off, landing, being "on the runway", or in emergency situations.

All aircraft must abide by the current noise policy established by the club.
